The Celestron RASA 8″ f/2 (Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph) is a dedicated imaging telescope engineered for high-speed astrophotography. Unlike traditional telescopes, the RASA system is optimized exclusively for camera-based imaging, delivering a flat, coma-free field with exceptional sharpness across the entire frame.

With its ultra-fast f/2 optical design and 400mm focal length, the RASA 8 allows astrophotographers to capture faint deep-sky objects in a fraction of the time required by slower telescopes. This makes it ideal for live stacking, wide-field nebula imaging, and survey-style astrophotography.

Its optical system is built for modern CMOS and astronomical cameras, offering excellent compatibility with color and mono sensors (with appropriate adapters). The design minimizes exposure time while maximizing signal strength, making it one of the fastest consumer astrographs available.

The RASA 8 is a specialized system intended for imaging only and is not designed for traditional eyepiece-based visual observation.
